Will BART Add $100k in Value to Your Home in Antioch? [Video]

August 13, 2019 By Libby Guthrie Leave a Comment

Is it true that the new BART station in Antioch will immediately add to home values in East Contra Costa, in particular, Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley?

Video Transcript

A lot of times when I’m talking to (home) sellers, they ask me, well Libby, since E-BART is in Antioch now, I’m sure the value of my home is going to be worth at least $100,000 more.

And I say well it will help, we’re all excited that BART is in Antioch now and it’s certainly helping the values. It’s not hindering them, but will it actually give you that much appreciation?

I doubt it very seriously because when the Pittsburgh-Bay Point BART went in several years ago, we did not see that type of acceleration in the prices especially overnight.

Here's the big question: Would you rather…⁣
⁣
🅰 Pay less for a home today with a higher mortgage rate?⁣
OR⁣
🅱 Wait and pay more for a home with a lower rate?⁣
⁣
👉 If you're unsure, consider this: Buying at a lower price (even with a higher mortgage rate) can mean less competition and a chance to refinance later if rates drop.⁣

Which would you choose? Let us know in the comments! 💬⁣
