Hi, I’m Libby Guthrie with Keller Williams Realty in Northern California.

If you’re thinking about getting your real estate salesperson’s license or your broker’s license to sell real estate in the state of California, here are a few tips for you.

To obtain your real estate salesperson’s license in the state of California, you need to prove that you have successfully passed three college-level courses that they require prior to you setting your test date.

Once you’ve had a test date set and you pass the test, then you would be under a broker of record, responsible broker of record, to provide your services to help people buy or sell homes in the state of California.

And then if you decide you want to become a real estate broker, you actually need to have two year’s experience or you need a college degree proving that you majored in real estate or minored in real estate in college and you have that degree.

There are some other requirements too. But you need to also successfully pass eight college-level courses prior to obtaining the test date to obtain your broker’s license.

And so that just keep in mind that you want to go to the California Department of Real Estate‘s website to see what those requirements are to either become a broker or a real estate salesperson in the state of California.

And also our office does provide classes at no charge to let you know what you need to do in order to get your license. And also provides some test prep classes at no charge so that you can properly be prepared to take the test.

So if you have any questions regarding that. Please feel free to contact me at 925-628-2436.

Thanks.

5 Small Things That Make Buyers Feel at Home Immed 5 Small Things That Make Buyers Feel at Home ImmediatelyWhen buyers walk into a home, the little things shape the feeling faster than most sellers realize.
Here are five details that make a home feel instantly inviting:
1. Natural light and open blinds
2. A comfortable temperature
3. Clean, fresh-smelling air
4. Clear surfaces and uncluttered rooms
5. A layout that feels easy to move through
None of these require a major renovation. But together, they change how a buyer experiences the space.
That first impression matters. Buyers don’t just evaluate square footage and finishes — they pay attention to how a home feels in the first few minutes.
If you’re preparing to sell, start with the basics before chasing bigger updates. Often, the easiest improvements create the strongest emotional response.
Which one do you notice first when you walk into a home?
